Workshop: Aviation Safety Management System (ASMS)
SYNOPSIS
The approach of the aviation safety regulatory agencies have changed the approach towards aviation safety from past prescriptive approach by imposing strictly rules and regulations without any consideration of the unique process in the industries to manage a holistic safety approach by hazards’ identification and risk assessment. Any unsafe condition is addressed by series of mitigation actions, which allows the industries to address safety issues in advanced, even before the process started. This approach is called as AVIATION SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
SMS can dramatically change the way your company performs and responds to safety, risk and change. Effective executive management decision making is facilitated, leading to lower costs, higher safety, retention of staff and harmony with regulatory authorities. However, the all level of employee must have the understanding on SMS to ensure successful implementation.
This workshop provides the insight of the regulatory requirements and the employee responsibilities implicit in SMS introduction. A number of short case studies are conducted together on hazards identification, risk assessment and development of mitigation actions.
